Beside the ramp leading to the Temple Mount was a sign warning visitors to respect the site. Indeed
there have been riots and other uprisings on the Temple Mount over the last few decades.
Orthodox Jews were warned against visiting the Temple Mount because they might
walk where the Holy of Holies was located when the Jewish Temple stood on
Mount nineteen hundred years earlier.
